Loetz, as well as Satsuma.This art glass piece to the left was created by Roland Jahn in 1975. Jahn was born in Germany in 1934 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin. He studied along side Harvey Littleton and taught at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Jahn has garnered several awards, held hundreds of exhibitions across the world, and is represented in several museum collections. Roland's work is also documented in dozens of books including Contemporary Art Glass by Ray and Lee Grover. This piece, as well as all the other pieces here are for sale through Kux Antiques & Glass.
Contemporary Art Glass was one of the first comprehensive books written on art glass and included many artists that were the fathers of the studio art glass movement, like Littleton and Lipofsky. Ray and Lee Grover authored four books on art glass: Contemporary Art Glass, Carved and Decorated European Art Glass, Art Glass Nouveau, and English Cameo Art Glass.
