Loetz, as well as Satsuma.This art glass piece to the left was created by Pauline Solven in 1971. Solven was born in London, England in 1943 and worked at The Glasshouse in London for numerous years. She has garnered several awards, held hundreds of exhibitions across the world, and is represented in several museum collections. Solven's work is also documented in dozens of books including Contemporary Art Glass by Ray and Lee Grover. This piece is illustrated in Contemporary Art Glass; many pieces for sale by Kux Antiques & Glass are documented in this book.
Contemporary Art Glass was one of the first comprehensive books written on art glass and included many artists that were the fathers of the studio art glass movement, like Littleton and Lipofsky. Ray and Lee Grover authored four books on art glass: Contemporary Art Glass, Carved and Decorated European Art Glass, Art Glass Nouveau, and English Cameo Art Glass.
